Our Equipment

Here is some of the equipment we can regularly be seen using on private paranormal investigations and public ghost hunts...

1. Video CamCorder and IR Light.

 
 Without this vital piece of equipment there would be no Investigation. The CamCorder is particulary important as this enables the Investigator to record both Video and Audio, and enables rooms to be monitored remotely if needed.

During night Investigations, the CamCorder alone is not suffucient to record in the darkness, so we mount an Infrared Light on to the top of the camera, which emitts a Red light, not visible to the naked eye, but visible to the camera's lense and extends the range capabilities of the Camera enabling recording in pitch darkness - This has proved invaluble on Investigations.

2. IR Surface Thermometer

The IR Surface Thermometer was primarily built for tempreture testing/checking within commercial Chillers, however soon found it's way into the Ghost Hunter's Kit.

These thermometers offer a very easy to use design, simply point at the location (such as the floor) and click, and it displays a tempreture read-out.

With these thermometers they only cover where you point, and they can give erratic readings from time to time. They are not as easy to fool as thermometers with probes on the end, so this makes it a favourite within the Paranormal Community.

3. IR Beam Barrier/Motion Sensor

Beam Barriers are often used within shops, such as Tesco's, as a security device, capable of alerting staff with a very (trust me) loud siren to a person who is doing something wrong .... Well, this too has found it's way into the Ghost Hunters Kit.

Consisting of an Invisible beam of light this tiny device is usefull to have on investigations. When an object passes through this beam, the beam breaks, triggering an Alarm.

This is a very handy device to have if you intend to block certian rooms off, or for vigils. Once the alarm is triggered it stays on for anywhere between 10 - 30 seconds before switching the alarm back off, within those 30 seconds the investigator has usually made their way to that area, and can scan around for clues as to what set this off.

4. CellSensor EMF Meter

Our newest piece of equipment, the CellSensor EMF Meter, this particular device measures both EMF (Electro-Magnetic Fields) and RF-R (Radio Frequency Radiation) and provides a fairly accurate reading of both.

EMF can affect both you and you're equipment in ways you would not have thought possible. It can cause you're CamCorder batteries to die rapidly after a full charge and affect other equipment using batteries in the same way. EMF can cause you to have headaches, to feel paranoid and have the sense of someone watching you - and there are more ways it effects you aswell!

Having this device close to hand enables you to take a reading of the current EMF levels in you're location, having this helps you as an investigator to start ruling out what could have caused person A to feel as though someone is watching them, and person B who is currently running for their life adimant something is stalking them!

Whilst this device has the ability to read RF-R, we only use this to read EMF.
