First A History
Once one of the grandest houses in South West Wales. Built by the Harold family in the late 13th century and home to the powerful Perrot family from 1370 to the early 18th century. Sir John Perrot was born here in 1530. A favourite of Queen Elizabeth until she locked him in the Tower of London, where he died before he could be executed in September 1592.

It was enlarged and modernised by the Perrot’s who added two new halls, a walled courtyard and a 5m squared gatehouse which housed a spiral staircase and a garderobe. In the 17th century it became a self-contained tower house and was later known as the Stewards Tower.
In the 18th century Haroldston was owned by the Pakington family and leased out. It sadly fell into decay but the Stewards Tower was occupied until the late 19th century.The gardens attached to the great house were reputed to be some of the finest formal Tudor gardens in Wales. see more in our article about this great location

Summary

With the help of Mediums Andrew Taylor and Tracey Craig, the night proved a success overall, with one of the Team having a strange experience with the Ouija Board and some other strange phenomena happening, some of which can be explained easily, some of which, cannot be.
The guest mediums provided some useful information which we are currently researching, and will provide an update on this when we have it.

Key information Picked up on from the Mediums

Strong name - Elizabeth

Strong Name - Picton

Little Boy Alfred Servant boy or such like - died in the ‘well’, not sure if he was pushed but crying for help but was ignored y the people around.

Mary, protector/woman in White - Surname Harold, though married into the family - land owner - Mother of Alfred

Main Notes

Initially when we first arrived at the site guest Mediums Andrew and Tracey got the connection to an Elizabeth, however could not get any more information. On our walk arounds a variety of information had been picked up, as can be seen on the videos, Mainly a small boy named Alfred, who was a peasant boy/servant boy was envisioned running around the top end of the site behind the main wall.

As the evening went on, Tracey got drawn down to a large tree at the bottom of the field, feeling a presence of a Lady dressed in white, with long Dark hair, Tracey was also picking up on this Lady’s name, Mary, after was married to one of the Harold’s and the tree was planted for her. She watched the grounds up to the house from the tree.

Andy and Shaun proceeded inside the ‘Undercroft’ and started to ask out to any spirits that were present. Andy picked up on what appeared to be an ORB on the camera; however it could be anything (insects, dust, moisture etc...). Shaun could hear scraping, but could not pinpoint where it was coming from.

They were joined by both the mediums.

Both Andy and Andrew had heard faint murmuring, almost a conversation, but could not pick out words, the rest of the team were 30/40 Meters away. Tracey, Andy and Andrew could also smell wood burning, very strongly from inside the ‘Undercroft’, and as can be seen through the video, there is no such fire there.
Andrew (medium) could sense a presence to his left.

Later the Team proceeded to the Well, where they made a horrifying discovery. Andrew and Tracey were picking up on the presence of a young boy, who had been pushed down the well. both mediums had heard the word HELP repeated over and over, possibly from the boy who had been pushed down there. It was at this point that Tracey connected Alfred the peasant/servant boy to this death, and also connected the white woman (Mary) to be his parent, who she is watching over. This puzzles me as Alfred was a peasant and Mary a land owner, was he illegitimate?

We decided to set up a Ouiji to see if we could get any more information on the boy.

Soon after a Ouija was set up, The name John Perrot was brought forward through the board, stating the year was 1653. The spirit tried to communicate with the team through Andrew, but Andrew would not let him, due to the bad nature of the spirit. This can be seen in more detail in the Video

Shaun and Michael went onto the Ouija board later in the night, whilst asking for John, Andrew shouted “STAND BACK” towards the board.
The name Tim was given from the Ouija board, and the spirit knew Shaun (Tim was Shaun’s step father). Again this can be seen in more detail in the Video

Siobhan and Andy heard horses galloping in the distance (all the fields nearby were empty) whilst Shaun and Michael where doing the Ouija board, this could be explained to the fact the vast majority of surrounding countryside is all open, and as such, sound travels further, however the Horses sounded to be in the next field, which was empty.

Towards the end of the night sightings were reported from a variety of the team members of ‘shadow’ spooks flitting out of the edge of vision. Also Siobhan reported feeling as though she was trespassing when she was around the well, and top of the ‘garden’ area of the site, she could not give a reason for this feeling though.

All in all the majority of the team felt that the site had a good overall atmosphere (however this turned slightly at the end of the night), and that we achieved our overall goal - which was for the mediums to pick up the Perrot Link.
